How we handle your information

HONEYSUCKLE Inc. (“we”, “us”) is a company registered in Japan. This policy explains what we collect when you contact us, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We handle personal information in line with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

1. What we collect

When you submit our enquiry form, we receive:

We also collect limited information about how visitors use this site through cookies and similar technologies. Section 4 covers that.

2. Why we use it

To answer your enquiry and continue the conversation
To tell you about our services and follow up on your interest
To improve our services and this website
To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and unauthorised access
To meet our legal obligations and exercise our legal rights

If we ever need to use your information for something outside these purposes, we will ask you first.

3. Keeping it secure

We limit who can access enquiry data, encrypt traffic to this site over TLS, and apply access controls to the systems that hold it.

Our enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from automated submissions. It runs in the background and does not ask you to solve puzzles.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Tag Manager (provided by Google LLC) to understand how this site is used. Through it, cookies and similar technologies may record things like which pages you viewed, where you arrived from, and what browser you use.

On its own, this information does not identify you. Where it can be combined with other information to identify you, we treat it as personal information under this policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of this site may not work properly if you do.

5. Service providers we rely on

We may engage service providers to handle information on our behalf, and where we do, we supervise them as the law requires.

This website and enquiry form run on cloud services from Cloudflare, Inc.,Google LLC, and GitHub, Inc.

Under guidance from Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission, using a cloud service does not by itself count as sharing personal data with a third party, provided the cloud provider is contractually barred from accessing the data it stores and appropriate access controls are in place. We assess each service we use on that basis.

6. Where your information goes

The providers above are based outside Japan, so information you send us may be stored on servers in other countries.

We review the information each provider publishes about its practices and the data protection regime in the relevant country, and take appropriate measures accordingly.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except where:

the law requires it
it is needed to protect someone’s life, safety, or property and consent cannot reasonably be obtained
it is particularly necessary for public health or the welfare of children and consent cannot reasonably be obtained
we are cooperating with a public authority carrying out its legal duties, and seeking consent would obstruct that work

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires us to. Once neither applies, we delete or dispose of it without undue delay.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to disclose, correct, add to, delete, or stop using your personal information, or to stop sharing it with third parties. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable period, as the law provides.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the law or our business changes. The revised version takes effect when we publish it here.

If you subscribe to Japan Market Newsletter, we collect your email address and record your newsletter consent, subscription source and submission time. We use these details to send the English newsletter, information about our Japan market support, and to manage subscriptions and unsubscribe requests.

We use SHANON MAIL, provided by SHANON Inc., to manage newsletter forms and email delivery. Only people who choose to subscribe through the English newsletter form are included in this newsletter’s audience. Contacting us about a product does not automatically subscribe you.

You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact us at contact@honey-suckle.jp. We retain the minimum records needed to honour unsubscribe requests.
